General Setup for Installing Applications
With the
emergence of yum,
setting up general applications and utilities has become very simple
for rpm-based
distributions — especially
with the use of third party
repositories.
As a result, I have dedicated this section toward augmenting yum and
providing information on how to setup some third-party repositories.
Their proper setup provides the basis for a large
portion of the rest of the HOWTO
pages, which is why it has been included here.
